Forty-eight Shinglebacks
While visiting South Australia in October of 2015, I photographed every live Shingleback I saw that did not scuttle out of sight quickly enough to avoid my camera. (Why, you may ask? Because Shinglebacks are both awesome and ridiculous, obviously.) Fortunately, Shinglebacks are slow lizards and only about five or six managed to evade me. All of these evaders, and the majority of the photographed Shinglebacks, were meandering across roads.
The Shinglebacks in these parts of South Australia are Eastern Shinglebacks, Tiliqua rugosa aspera.
