Ecuador Poison Frog
Also known as:
Wikiri Poison Frog
Now this is an excellent poison frog. Bright aposematic colors, of course, but in a distinctive arrangement. Also, bumpy.
I didn't even mention the cool mottled belly, which you can get a glimpse of here.
Most references I've seen call this "Ecuador Poison Frog", though Coloma & Duellman use the far more interesting name "Wikiri Poison Frog". "Wikiri" is onomatopoeia used by an Amerindian group in eastern Ecuadorian Amazonia called the Huaorani. I imagine Coloma and/or Duellman didn't like the name "Ecuador Poison Frog" since (A) many different poison frog species live in Ecuador, and (B) this species is not endemic to Ecuador, also being found in parts of Colombia and Peru.
