Anolis orcesi
—
Orces’s Andes Anole
Anolis orcesi is a rarely seen species, due in part to its limited range in high elevation cloud forests on the Amazon side of the Andes, and partly on its good camouflage and its very slow, chameleon-like movement. My guide Amanda Quezada spotted this anole as it slept about ten feet up a tree.
