Anolis rodriguezii
—
Rodriguez’s Anole
Also known as:
Chiapas Smooth Anole
Some older references spell this rodriguezi, with only one trailing "i".
After returning from Belize, I sat down with my notes and Julian Lee's big Yucatan Peninsula reptile book and spent a long time deciding exactly which anoles I had seen where.

I believe this tree hugger is Anolis rodriguezii from its patterning and general proportions, but I'm not completely sure.
Here is a list of all the reptiles and frogs I saw on this trip to Guatemala.

There aren't too many different Anolis species in this area of Guatemala, and A. rodriguezii seems to be the only one with an orange dewlap (present on this individual though not shown in this picture).

Another tentative ID, based on comparing this photo with the various anole species known from this area.

Same caption here as on the previous photo. Different night though.
