Craugastor lineatus
—
Montane Robber Frog

This medium-sized forest floor denizen has a set of scattered populations in the highlands of Guatemala and southern Mexico. This was the first Craugastor species I encountered on this trip, and my guide Fred Muller and I saw several of them on our first night.
Here is a list of all the reptiles and frogs I saw on this trip to Guatemala.

We travelled to a different but nearby location for our second and third nights, where these frogs were still the medium-sized Craugastor species du jour.

A few nights later we were traveling back from whence we came and stayed again in the same lodge we had visited back on our first night of the tour. Unsurprisingly, the frog fauna was largely the same.
