Dendropsophus carnifex
—
Executioner Clown Frog
Also known as:
Executioner Tree Frog, Hangman Swamp Frog
The surprising English names for this species are unfortunate puns referring to a John Lynch, who collected most of the frogs used to describe this species.
At our lodge, these frogs had colonized the swimming pool. We saw several yellow individuals that occupied the pool drain, and one brown individual in nearby vegetation.
