Dendrophidion dendrophis — Tawny Forest Racer
The first photo above shows this beautiful diurnal snake sleeping at night in the rainforest foliage, about six feet off the ground. The second photo is the same snake posed and photographed the following day.
This was the second diurnal snake coiled in the foliage that I saw on this night hike, just a few minutes after the first. We ended up finding six snakes in total this evening, which is quite a haul for a rainforest hike.
