Enyalioides heterolepis
—
Spiny Dwarf-Iguana
Also known as:
Bocourt’s Dwarf Iguana
This species can be distinguished from the 10 other species of Enyalioides in Ecuador by the combination of the dark triangular marks below the eyes and the thin light lines in front of the forelegs. The first two photos are of an adult male that was sleeping on a palm frond. The third photo is of an adult female clinging to the trunk of a small tree.
