Lerista skinks have very small legs at most (many species have two or zero limbs), and are very squirmy. These were no exceptions. I came across a number of these skinks under dead logs, but when uncovered they would go into a crazy thrashing squirmfest, and usually escape into the leaf litter and soil within a few seconds. I managed to direct this one toward an open area, where it eventually calmed down enough for a few photos. (Afterwards I returned it to its original log, of course.)
