Lesser Swamp Frog (Limnonectes paramacrodon)
The first time I day-tripped to Bako, the shallow streams and swampy expanses near the headquarters were a cacophony of these calling, jumping, and splashing frogs. Breeding frenzy! When I returned several days later, nary a frog was visible.

I have trouble telling various Limnonectes species apart, so take my ID with a grain of salt. These seemed too small to be L. ingeri or L. leporinus though, and the details of shape and pattern seemed a good fit for L. paramacrodon, which has definitely been recorded from Bako.

My Travelogues and Trip Lists page includes a complete list of the herps I saw in the wild on this trip to Malaysia, as well as a travelogue of the trip.
