Pristimantis devillei
—
Devilles’ Rainfrog
Also known as:
DeVille’s Robber Frog
This species was easily distinguishable from the other two Pristimantis that we saw in this forest (P. kayi and P. glandulosus) by its larger size, prominent dorsolateral folds, and curved black mark from the snout to just above the front leg.
I was very disappointed to learn that these frogs were not named after the devil. Instead, they were named after some guy named DeVille. (But maybe he was named after the devil?)
