Rhacophorus norhayatiae Norhayati’s Gliding Frog
Also known as:
Norhayati’s Flying Frog, Wallace’s Orange-sided Treefrog
This species was named after Dr. Norhayati Ahmad of the National University of Malaysia, who is female. According to the official species naming rules, the suffix must therefore be the Latin feminine case, thus norhayatiae. However, the folks who described this species in 2010 overlooked this, and the species was known as R. norhayatii for 11 years before the name correction was made in 2021.

My guide Kurt "Orion" G recognized the call of this beautiful frog, which was high up a tree, and eventually spotted it with his flashlight. Together we managed to convince it to gilde down for a quick photo session.
