These cute little dragons can often be seen standing in the late on their hind legs at the edges of roads, turned towards the sun for maximum warmth. I saw several of them in this position, but they would all dash away into the desert before I could point a camera at them. In my nearest miss, I spotted the lizard while driving past, drove a little further and did a U-turn, then drove back slowly. The lizard was still there. I pulled the car over and got out very slowly and carefully, with my camera in hand. The lizard was still there. But then a car sped by, and the lizard disappeared. Fooey!
